Gilbert Perez focuses his practice in the area of Divorce, Marital and Family Law. Gilbert is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.

Gilbert began his career in the public sector. He represented low-income clients in their family law matters while working for the Legal Aid Society in Miami, Florida, and worked in the Florida Attorney General’s Office in Fort Lauderdale, Children’s Legal Services division, serving as Bureau Chief and representing the State in child dependency and termination of parental rights proceedings.

Prior to joining Henderson Franklin, Gilbert served as Assistant State Attorney, in the Fort Myers office of the State Attorneys Office, Twentieth Judicial Court. He was in the Special Victims Unit, prosecuting sex crimes and crimes against children, and also served in the Felony, Misdemeanor and Juvenile Divisions.

Gilbert is currently the President of the Association of Family Law Professionals, a member of the Board of the Lee County Legal Aid Society and a member of the Lee County Bar Association.  He is a native Floridian, born in Miami, Florida.
