10 Contradictory Signs of Infidelity

    There are many signs of infidelity. Some of these signs may appear to contradict themselves. The telltale signs one cheating husband displays may be just the opposite of the signs displayed by another husband who is having an extramarital affair. No two cheaters will display exactly the same signs of infidelity.

The telltale signs found will vary according to  the personality of the cheating husband,  the circumstances and type of infidelity involved, and other factors, as well. Consider the contradictory signs of infidelity below.

1. He distances himself from you.  
He's solidifying his bond and getting closer to her.

2. He smothers you with attention. 
He's overcompensating, either because of his guilty conscience, or  because he's trying to throw you off track so you won't notice or suspect what's really going on. 

3. Your sex life decreases.
Out of a mistaken sense of loyalty to his mistress, he avoids having sex with you because he feels he's betraying her. Or he's so tuckered out from having sex with her, that he has no energy left for you.

4. Your sex life increases.
The excitement of his affair spills over into his relationship with you and fuels his desire. Or he could be practicing his sexual moves on you to perfect them for when he's with her again.

5. He provides too much detail when questioned about his activities.  
He over-explains, or goes into excessive detail about why he was late or missing in action, in an attempt to make his story or his excuse sound plausible.

6. He's very vague when questioned about his activities.
He's afraid to give you too many details when you inquire what he's been up to, for fear he'll let something slip that will give himself away. The less he says, the less likely you are to catch him in a lie, or pick up some clue about what he's doing behind your back.

7. He stays up late.  
So he can e-mail his mistress, send her text messages or call her without you knowing what's going on. He may even sneak out to see her while you're asleep.

8. He goes to bed early.
So he can avoid intimacy with you.

9. He's no longer interested in what you do or where you go.
He's too busy with his mistress to concern himself with what's going on in your world. He's doing his own thing.

10. He wants to know your every move.
He's shows excessive interest in your schedule, which you could easily misinterpret to mean that he's jealous or he misses you. The real reason he wants to know where you're going, how long you'll be there and when you're coming back is so he can plan his affair around your schedule without the fear of getting caught.

Not all cheating husbands act the same way when they are having an affair. A normally talkative, outgoing husband may become quiet and withdrawn when he's having an affair. On the other hand, an affair may give a quiet, retiring man an ego boost that transforms him into Mr. Congeniality – talkative, outgoing, and full of energy.
