Sexcetera: He’s Just Not That Into Marrying You
Does He Love Me Or Not?

Q: I have been in a relationship with a man for more than four years. He's 10 years older than I am, was married for more than 20 years and divorced before we met. He's from another state, and we meet during weekends. Our relationship has been good so far. I recently brought up the subject of marriage, but he replied that he's not interested in "being anyone's husband again." Should I give him more time to think about our relationship, or should I just walk out of this relationship? Does he love me or not?
Steve: "Love, Lord above, now you're tryin' to trick me in love." Sorry for the 1970s rock flashback, but the correct question is one you need to ask yourself: Do I want to marry? If the answer to that is "Yes," you need to move forward with your life and leave him behind. Then you can sing that it's "All Right Now."
Mia: He might love you, but he's not going to marry you. Ever. So if that's what you're looking for, I'd put on your walking boots.
Steve (not his real name) is 50-something and has been married to his second wife for 20 years. Mia (not her real name) is a 20-something single immersed in the Center City dating scene.
