In times of great frustration, distress and emotional pain it's easy to lose sight of our faith. Our spirituality and beliefs are often victims of the negativity and destruction that divorce can bring to our lives but regaining that faith is not impossible. By bringing ourselves into the right atmosphere and mindset we can renew our spiritual self and find our way back into faith.
Here are five simple steps to recovering faith:
1. Avoid blame. When people are thrown into difficult situations and become distraught they often look for someone to blame. Many times in the midst of this frustration they blame God and separate themselves from their faith. By avoiding blame we are able to accept the situation for what it is and not build unnecessary barriers in our lives.
2. Think spiritually. It's easy to put your faith aside during rough patches of your life and step away from your beliefs but this will ultimately only make things harder. By maintaining our beliefs and focusing on our faith as part of ourselves we can shed the negativity that divorce puts on us.

3. Reach out.Divorce can be an isolating and lonely experience. It's important to reach out to people who share your faith and beliefs. Finding a network of people who share and support your beliefs and spirituality can greatly expedite the healing process.

4. Open up.Sharing your feelings and speaking openly to God can help cleanse frustrations and negativity that builds up.
5. Avoid focusing on failure.A divorce can leave us feeling disappointed and wondering what went wrong. Try not to focus on feeling of failure and do not assume that you are being punished. These kinds of feelings and thoughts distract us from our faith and only promote negativity in our lives.
