Los Angeles-based lawyer, columnist, entrepreneur and community activist David Pisarra has a varied professional background as a businessman and consultant. David was raised in the Bay Area town of Orinda. He attended St. John’s College in Annapolis, Md., a liberal arts school. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in both Mathematics and Philosophy with minors in Greek and French.

David returned to Los Angeles where he began running the day-to-day operations for his brother’s thriving law firm. After three years, he enrolled at the University of West Los Angeles to study Business Law. While pursuing his law degree, David also worked with a company called Alliance Management Group, which consulted with small businesses regarding strategic alliances, acquisitions and crisis management. 

David graduated from the three-year program, and he took a position in the corporate headquarters of Herbalife, a multi-billion dollar, publicly-traded company that provides nutritional supplements and personal-care  products around the world. For two years, David worked in cosmetic licensing for the company and then moved into a similar position with a start-up based in Milton Keynes, England called Montaigne International.

After successfully organizing the licensing department of the company, David returned to the United States to take the bar exam.
