Why is he lucky you got ONLY 50% of his reitement? Many bullets did you dodge? How many mortars and rockets were targetted at your house? SCOTUS said he earned that retirement, it is not a pension. Pat Schroder (D) Ca. a liberal marxist military hating shrew rammed the USFSPA through congress controlled by Dems and the had it retroactively installed. Dems have and always will loathe the military and do everything they can to destroy it. Go marry another GI and in a year divorce him and sue for 50%. You will get it in Kalifornia or NJ or some any other bastion of marxist thought. I'm not lumping all wives in the same category, it is a screwed up law. And there are many that think the same thing. Rumsfeld was sued in 2008 and it went all the way to SCOTUS and they declined to hear it. Maybe if more female soldiers get 1/2 of their retirement and disability taken from them it will change.

I'm glad you took something from my blog. If and when you get settled you plant those peonies. I had some once in Pa. Beautiful flowers. they are hard to grow here. It gets too hot. But at least you know someone will be enjoying the flowers you planted. This land hadn't been lived on in years and had to be cleared off. I have transplanted several crepe myrtle I found on here and there is an old rose bush with little white roses that is growing wild. I want to move it to the garden fence. I appreciate what the former owners planted so long ago.
