Sig - What about AlAnon? There has to be an AlAnon Meeting near you. That would be appropriate as well.

HI Sig - Counseling can be a good idea. You probably need a counselor who specializes in twelve step recovery to help you with codependency issues. Most therapists are not trained in recovery work. You can begin on your own by buying and reading the book CoDependent No More by Melody Beattie. You can also attend CODA meetings and find a sponsor who will help you do the 12 steps. If you can find a sponsor you can accomplish a great deal within the 12 step program. CODA and a terrific sponsor saved my life many years ago.
