Parenting after divorce, Alec Baldwin’s new book and Parental Alienation are all making headlines. For good reason. Despite their best efforts, family courts have been failing our children in post-divorce settlements. To compound that, parents are poorly prepared for the challenges of co-parenting or single parenting facing them once the divorce is over. There is a gender war now brewing over the reality and consequences of Parental Alienation after divorce and Alec Baldwin’s newly published book is adding considerable fuel to the fire. My Child-Centered Divorce Network has become a trusted resource for information on creating cooperative, peaceful divorces. I want to discuss this topic including: · What is Parental Alienation Syndrome? · Why is Alec Baldwin in the news talking about it? · Why are so many men’s groups rallying around this issue? · Why is the National Organization for Women so opposed to PAS? · What’s in the best interest of our children? · What can parents do to emotionally safeguard their children after divorce? · What is a Child-Centered Divorce? · How can parents avoid legal disasters from the divorce court system? We need to start a sane dialog about this crucial issue and make sense of it now. This is not a gender issue. It's a parenting issue and our children's well-being is at stake.
