I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I wish I had some information that could help you. I see that Spaz is helping you though, and that's good. That does Suck, my friend...

did you actualy RETAIN an attorney in Indiana - because honestly, I have a strong suspicion your case is going to get booted out of the US court saying they have no jurisdiction over children born in and living in Japan - not to mention - you can't serve her in Japan...you could if she were US military, but she isn't - she is civilian. If you retained an attorney I'm concerned they either are stupid, or taking you as an easy paycheck. Any ruling you get in Indiana will not be enforceable in japan, nor can a US court force visitation...I seriously suggest you actually contact an international family law attorney - (I'm not one by any means) google it - and don't worry about the state they are in for now - just get general advice and a direction to go. There is one that come up from New York - http://www.international-divorce.com/ I think you are going to have to deal with Japan if you like it or not.

I hate to tell you this buck - but your divorce will cost just as much, if not more than what you didn't want to pay in Japan.... when you divorce an unreasonable spouse anywhere - it gets costly. Especially with kids involved.
