holiday blues

Feeling kinda blue today.  Kids are gone to their dad till Monday.  No plans for the 4th.  Family not in this country.  First time in a long time I have been alone for holidays...How does one cope?  Friends all have their own families with family gatherings.  Feeling blue, but it is nice to have a free weekend for a change.  Time to shop I think!

Asim's right dyben.  Movies are great.  You can go to one, rent one, whatever.  The important thing is to do something uniquely you.  Something you want to do all the time but just don't have the time.

Last Christmas I watched movies, cleaned house, and made me a nice dinner.  It may not sound too exciting but these were things I'd been having trouble getting done.  I enjoyed it.  I threw on some music and had a great Christmas.  You can do this, you sound like a fun person, be fun for yourself!

Do something for yourself that you LIKE but can't normally, even if it is veggin out in front of the tv.
I feel for you. I was apart from all of my kids at the same time a few years ago . It was the first time EVER>..my sister took them for 4 days. I cried as I watched the car go. Moped around the house a day or so. Then I realized I was getting a WONDERFUL break from laundry...dirty dishes....I had the tv all to my self...I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the time.
My sister ( she is the one who had them) called me after a few days. ( She had no kids of her own at the time, is very organized etc) and told me what great kids I have. They are awesome ....she said. Then she said "It is really weird though, I am starting to forget stuff...I have never had that happen before." I  told her she made my day. I figured out that I was forgetting stuff because of my hectic life...partly , even mostly my kids activities. I feel better...it is not my age but my hectic life is why I am forgetting!
Anyway..try to enjoy the time you have to yourself...treat yourself...take care of yourself and when they return you will be ready for action!
