Any body know?

Does anybody have any idea why someone would want to stay with someone they know does not love them?????  It is complete mystery to me.

I still loved her despite her imperfections and cruelty towards me mentally.
It was just that simple. But, sadly I lost myself in the process. She brought the bad out of me.
It is a mystery. I am going through divorce now.

Yep, what he said.  I adore my wife, even though she cheated on me with one of my best friends, and lied about it for two months after I found out about the "relationship" she described as just really good friends.  I'm still with her, and it is almost as pathetic as my not recognizing the affair at all until 2 months ago.

I feel weak and terrible about myself these days...like I'm just holding on to something or like I've got her trapped in this marriage with me.  I have proof (well, close enough) in cell phone and email records, her own admission, enough to bury her in a custody or property struggle and she knows it.  This is no way to live.  Trouble is, if we reconcile, and then it falls apart I will have wasted my chance to lay it to her in court over the affair.

Usually it's because they feel that by staying the other person will change their mind.  That either by wearing you down or by showing the extent of their love you will have a change of heart.  I've yet to see it work, although I've heard folk stories.  The problem is, it usually has the reverse effect.  It drives the other person further away, thinking you're crazy.

Not that I have any experience with that....
