401K

Hi there, I have a quick question and will appreciate your collective insight.

A line item under 'PROPERTY TO WIFE' on my Final Divorce Decree states " W-2 : One Half (1/2) of the 401K account in the husband's name and or under his control from his current place of employment".

My question is, what if I dont currently have a 401K? Does this affect any 401 K I might establish in the future?

Thanks

I am not a lawyer but I would think no. The way I read it, it sounds like if you had one now, she would be entitled to it.
