Does anyone know...

When my husband and I got married the bishop that married us was supposed to take care of changing my last name but never did.  What a shocker when at tax time our tax return was denied.  Once we learned what happened we started using my maiden name whenever we did taxes.  Suffice to say, we never did change my last name with Social Security.  So does that mean my maiden name is still my legal name?

(It's funny how I never did change that. Hmmm....I must've had a sixth sense that something was going to go very wrong with us.)

Spaznskitz- In case you revisit this post:  I have been using my husbands last name all these years (driver license, credit cards, bank accounts,etc..).  Do you know if these will be hard to switch to my legal (madien) name or will I need some kind of proof?  Will my social security card be enough proof to change my drivers license and then I can use these two to switch everything else?  Any ideas?
