Visualization....a thought to ponder.

What we form in our imagination is as real as any part of our body.  The idea and thought are real and will one day appear in our objective world if we are faithful to our mental image.

Architects visualize the type of building they want.  They see it as they desire it to be when completed.  Eventually through hard work and the help of others, the building is complete.

If we see our lives as lonely and in shambles, so it will be.  If we can visualize a happy complete life and stay true to that vision, one day it will be.  Psych 101; The self fulfilling prophecy.

Starr,
I like what you are saying. I tend to visualize the not so good stuff in my imagination. I need to catch myself when I do that and visualize positive things the way I want them to be. What a great idea! And it doesn't cost a dime to do!

I am reading a book about abandonment. Part of healing involves visualizing where you want to be 2 years from now.

In this exercise money is not a problem (if only real life were the same). You are to visualize a house as you would decorate it to make yourself feel good, loved, happy. You get the picture. I hate to say it but when I think about my house and every thing in it I do feel a bit better. Being able to see the way I want to live helps me realize that I may not have unlimited resources, but I could make some of my dream come true. It is all up to me.

I say "dream on, dream on". I may have lost my unhusband, but I did not lose my imagination or dreams for a better future!

You seem better today and I am happy for you.
