Can You Be Happier After Divorce?

The University of Chicago performed a study.  They were looking to see if divorced couples were any happier five years after the divorce.

The polled samples of couples who stayed together and couples who called it quits. Checking with them at the beginning and end of the five year period.  What they found is that, on the average, the couples who chose to divorce were no happier five years later than the ones who stuck it out.  This also proved true for those who remarried.

The results show that two out of three couples who stuck together ended up happier in five years.  Of those who divorced, only one in five ended up happier.

Does this mean you should stick it out?  The results seem to say yes.  One thing is sure, living with "I tried and failed" seems to sit better than "I wish I'd tried harder."

I'm not even divorced yet and I'm a lot happier.  It's only been a month since he's moved out and my mind is clearer, everyone tells me how good I look and I finally have inner peace.

Priceless!

I was a lot happier after my divorce.

Don't look at marriage as a success or failure.  Look at from the perspective of I made a good choice or a bad one.

Everyone makes mistakes in life.  Those that grow learn from their mistakes, forgive, move on and grow.
