How Do You Treat the Other Parent Of Your Child?

The world is a scary place.  When we bring children into it, it's usually in hopes to make the world better, and provide a good life for the children.

The UK Times argues that many divorced parents don't live by that code. They suggest that many single parents create children who will grow up to be lying and deceptive.  One way they do this is through visitation. Although the courts can guarantee both parents can see the children, they can't enforce the custodian parent's conduct.

Some parents make a child feel guilty when they go to visit the other parent by saying things like, "you're leaving me all alone," or insinuating that by visiting the other parent the child loves them more.  This not only puts the child in a position where they have to deal with adult situations, it also teaches them that it's ok to manipulate people to get what you want.

The best thing we can teach our children is to love unconditionally.  Not to choose sides, but to be a friend to everyone.  This is how we make the world a better place.
