The
South Korean high court has overturned a lower court decision. The lower court had ordered a man who had an
affair during his divorce to serve prison time.
The
man was going through a consensual divorce.
He started sleeping with a hostess.
When the court found out, they sentenced both parties to six months
prison time. In South Korea adultery is
a criminal offense and can bring 2 years prison time.
The
high court decided that since the man was in the middle of divorce proceedings,
he didn't need to serve the time because it really wasn't a crime.
