Great
Britain announced it's summer divorce figures: they're up 150 percent over last
year. It's quite the turn around,
considering last year was a 22 year low.
According
to experts, July's rate is up 40 percent over January. This is big, because January is the big post
Christmas divorce season. Experts are
blaming the divorce rise on the credit crunch and the corresponding lackluster
summer vacations. Lawyers are already
gearing up for what they're calling "Separation September."
So
far the US hasn't released any summer divorce figures, but with then housing
market still souring and the rising prices on food and gas, it looks like bad
summer vacations for us too, which could create an even worse fall for some
families.
