Is Divorce Worth Hanging Yourself?

A Chesham, Scotland man was found dead in his loft by his daughter.  He'd apparently hung himself because of his divorce.

Scott Jeffrey, 40, was a self-employed builder, originally from Glasgow.  According to the coroner, "He was a man who had become unhappy and distressed for a variety of reasons, and had tried to kill himself in a previous incident.

"It is plainly something he's done deliberately so I need to return a verdict on that basis that he took his own life."

It all apparently became overwhelming for Jeffrey and he hung himself with a garden hose wrapped around a beam in the house.  After his daughter found him, his wife cut him down with a kitchen knife, but he was clearly dead.

Police are ruling the incident as a suicide.

I think you're right ELK.  I think he had a lot going on in his head that we don't even know about, and yes, If he'd had faith then maybe he could have avoided despair.  It's just sad to see somebody be so selfish to do that, and then to have his daughter find him.  It doesn't  say how old she was, but you know it's going to scar her for life.

This is so sad to hear. Apparently this man was not mentally stable and this just pushed him over the edge. I hope everyone who reads this prays for this man and his family. There is never anything, anyone, or any circumstances that we as human beings go through in this life that justifies taking one's own life. I think most of us go through tough times and exceptionally hard endeavors during our walk through this earthly life. But if we put our faith and trust in GOD then we know that there is a heavenly place prepared for us to spend eternity, that in itself is worth hanging on and finishing whatever purpose we are placed here on earth for. There are no others that are worth taking ones own life for.
