Do we put enough effort into life??

Is it easier to sit behind a computer screen and type or search the web trying to make our lives better, rather than getting out of the house and do something to improve our lives??  I asked myself this question today.  The answer........yes it is easier sometimes.

The next question is.......is it really healthy, mentally or physically??  Mentally, maybe, physically no if we spend more time on the web than we do exercising.

I wonder if the web has made all of us put less effort into going out in the world to do things which would improve our lives??

   Comments anyone?

I think the net's a tool.  It's like a mall without the walking.  There's lots of shopping, there's games, and there's a small library, but it's not really good.  It just caries a lot of periodicals, and pop/taabloid info.  If you need real info, you need to go somewhere else.

It can be addictive.  all the pretty lights and oddities are like touring Hollywood at 1am on a Rascal. There's no effort, stuff just happens all around you, and it's all interesting.  But we do need to get out.  Our bodies beg for it, and so do our minds. We need social interaction. We need others to sharpen us, we need to explore the real world.

But that's just me, sitting at my computer desk, typing a bunch of stuff.  ;)

Starr,
I think you are right on! Since this whole thing started, I've turned to the internet in search of happiness and answers to my questions. With the exception of D360, it has been a tremendous waste of time. I've done much better when I get out and socialize with people and actually do things with friends and family. Sitting on my butt for hours looking at words on the computer screen is stagnating to me. When I get up and move around I feel awful.
I think the internet can be used to your advantage to find resources but once you do, it's time to get off the computer and go pursue what you found!
