life is too short

Sometimes I sit here and think that life is really bad and all is not right in the world, and then God jolts me back to reality.  Life is so short and precious that we should not sweat the small stuff.

I help look after a man dying of Parkinson's.  He is dying and has been admitted to the hospital.  He and his wife have been married since they were both 18 yrs old.  they are both in there 70's now.  I see them and realize that love can truly endure all things.  They have been together there whole life.  She loves him deeply and it is hard to watch him die with dignity.

They make me realize that life is short and that love really is out there for people if they are willing to put forth the effort to keep it alive and well.  It gives me hope that one day I will find that kind of love with someone.  It makes me think truly that my problems are small and insignificant.  Love and marriage is what we make of it.  Not what we expect our partners to make it.  I have truly been blessed to know this couple.  It is hard and sad to see him suffer.

Love is out there for us...we just need to nurture it once we get it.  I know it is possible.

That is sweet. Maybe I was born i the wrong time.  When they were young and married divorce was tabu now it is expected and egged on. People then had more morals and a better work ethic. Today if it gets rough, people run and look for easy or prettier.  Can you imagine all the ups and downs they have endured in marriage and life? Do you realize it is probaly all the same we have gone through as well and possibly even what ended OUR marriages.  I am jealous. I still love my husband but I will do it from afar. I wish I still had his love and he was not the man he is now.   Maybe some day I can meet a man with that strength and commitment for love and marriage. but I fear I will when I am 80 and got 1 foot in the grave and the other on a bananna peel.

Thank you dyben. You are so right. Life is too short and the older you get the more you know how fast the time flies.

We all need to take advantage of the time we get. For me, every second I spend wallowing over what I don't have is a second I can't have back. Dang! I wish I could remember this when I get discouraged!

So what are we all waiting for??? You heard the lady! Stop sweating the little things and start living!
