Logistics

I spent a good portion of the morning on the phone to various utilities, setting up service for my new apartment.  The nice thing is that they have Verizon Fios where I'll be living, so I can bundle everything through one provider -- more convenient, and much cheaper.  And the NFL Network is included!  I won't have to pay extra!  To a football freak like me, this is the best news I've had all day.  The only better news would be if someone told me that my beloved Philadelphia Eagles had just won the Super Bowl.  (I'm not holding my breath on this.)

It's just weird, though.  I haven't had to set up any utilities in my own name since I got married, so this is yet another clear sign that things are moving forward.

The universe must be having a great laugh at my expense.  But hey, at least I'll be able to watch NFL Replay marathons and overdose on all that testosterone.

Yeah, well my Dolphins need lots of baby steps.  I was a huge Marino fan, and still hate the Pats for the "Snowplow" incident in the 80s.

The Big Tuna?  I don't know where he got the name.  I think it's an older one, and before I started noticing him.  He is a good coach.  Lets just hope he blends with the team.  We haven't had that since Shula left.

I'm not quite as big a football fan, but I do enjoy the game.  It's one of the few I'll watch televised.  I prefer my sports like my concerts: LIVE.

Well, there's a new sheriff in Dolphin-town, so things may change from their pathetic 1-15 record in 2007.  Although I'm thinking he left the Cowboys because my Eagles drove him out of the NFC East and into the arms of the AFC East -- he'd already done stints at the Pats and Jets, so only Miami was left.  Yes, I'm talking about the Big Tuna himself, Bill Parcells (why do they call him Big Tuna, anyway?).  Okay, enough football, a topic I could happily go on about for hours and hours.

Baby steps, Rob, baby steps.
