What is the first step for the divorce after you move out?

I just told my husband that I want the separation. I am moving out next week. What is the first step I need to follow, in order to start the divorce process?
I dont have any children, we dont own any property or valuable thing.

If you have nothing to seperate, or are in complete agreement on how to seperate, including debt, go online for your state and see where to go to do it yourself. I know in Arizona you can print out all the paperwork from the state's court website and then just pay the small filing fee. They even have a self help place in the court houses where they will help you fill out the paperwork. Attorney's will cost you $3k just for the retainer.

in similar situation. Had a very short marriage and have suffered terribly with his rage and verbal and emotional abuse. In an enraged state he verbal abused. I am terrified of him. He left and moved out so I retained an attorney and he served my husband 2 weeks ago. I am moving out and he left me here with a mess.
