life style change

i have been married 18 years, my wife was my best friend for the first 14 years. we did a lot of things together and enjoyed our selves. then 4 years ago she started spending time with a female co worker who is a person of faith. she convinced my wife to start attending worship with her. i have no problem with religion, im just not a religious person and do not want to be. her going to church once a week was not a problem. the problem started when she spent 3 nights a week at church functions and sunday morns at church. thats 4 times a week. now its been brought into my life without being invited. it has affected the way we spend time toghether and how she thinks i should live my life. in the last 4 years i have tried to be tolerant so she could do her thing. i dont tell her how to live her life. but it has pushed me to the point that i have started seeking other relations with someone else. dont get me wrong, i love my wife dearly but dont think i can go the rest of my life living like this. i have meet someone else and i think im falling in love with her. we have been friends for about 2 1/2 years and it went to another level about a month ago. when i say level idont mean sex, just emotionaly.  i have no idea what to do with this situation. i could really use some advice.

My friend please please understand that this response is in no way mean spirited or ment to hurt you. please ingest these analogies before skipping this response.  If your wife is a christian here is what might be happening. In the Bible GOD says do not be unevenly yoked, which means do not continually be around those that reject Him. Also, as I am sure that you have heard, water and oil do not mix. The oil rises to the top.   Sounds like your wife's cup is about to run over (with The water) and you ( Mister hot stuff oil) are about to spill out.   let's hope that it's not into the frying pan because you will need "The" water to put you out.

Elane is totally right. Have you tried talking to her about this? Is there a reason why you wont go with her church? have you tried it? I'm not devout but I believe and feel guilty for not going like I should. We wives try different things with our husbands to please them and show them that we are willing to give it a try. Are you?

Have you tried telling her what this is doing to your relationship?  This other friend seems to just be filling a need you have for female attention, since you feel like you've lost your wife and best friend.  Has your wife told you why she's gotten so caught up and distracted by this newfound faith? What was missing that caused her to go that route?  If you love her, and want her back, talk to her, and be honest.  Ask her to do the same.  If you can't get her back, and she doesn't see your side, then maybe you should just divorce and go different ways.  We all change and grow, and you either do that together, or it drives you apart.  Whichever way it goes...don't disrespect her by cheating on her.  It will complicate things more than you know.

If you love your wife then you would not think of having other relations. If she is driving you nuts, then divorce her then have other relations. Do you really think cheating will have a positive effect on your marriage and your relationship with someone you say you love? By the way, you are having an affair, sex or not. Do your wife a favor and file for divorce.
