Property

I am a 53 years old male in Florida. I am in the process of divorce proceedings that my wife filed. I was recently "down sized" and now unemployed. We have two homes, one paid for (where she decided to stay) and a newer one where I was forced to move to. Can I request the court force the sale of both properties and split the net after all debt by both parties is subtracted?

Yes, I will discuss this wth my lawyer next week. As far as why she got the house that was paid for. I moved into the new home thinking she would come to her senses and this would all blow over. WRONG!

In your situation, it would be best to consult with an attorney asap. Different states have different laws regarding the split of marital property....so to get the best answer, get a good lawyer.
Good luck
