Married twice but never got divorced.

I need help trying to fill the divorce papers that my first husband sent me to sign.  We got married in california but separated about 8 years ago.  We started the paper work I did my part but I never checked if he finished, now the forms are asking if I have any assets and the only thing I could think of would be the house that my present husband and I have.  My first husband doesn't want to get me in trouble but what should I put on the form and also for the taxes, I been claiming married for 2 years with my present husband but my first husband has been claiming single.  Any help is really appreciated.

I honestly couldn't tell you - I'm in CA and I have no clue what the rates are for attorneys in FL - best to just hit the phone book and call around...

Thanks for answering.  Well If I did get a attorney how much you think this whole problem would cost me.  I just  want to have an idea.  I live in jacksonville, FL.

you need to hire an attorney to handle this for you in order to avoid bigamy charges, you also are going to have to annul this current "marriage" and re-marry legally, also you may have to ammend your previous tax returns as well.
