Consequences of leaving the marital home in a separation if the deed is in your name only

In a separation, is the party who moves out of the family home at a disadvantage in some way in a divorce occurs? How about in cases where the spouse who leaves has sole title to the house..as on thier name is the only one on the deed? This is in SC if that helps. thanks

Depends on the state divorce laws where you reside or whether you owned it before marriage and what contribution the spouse made toward the asset during the course of the marriage.
