alimony

should i have to pay alimony when i only make about $100 dollars more than her a month even though when we were together i was generous and paid most of the bills.

depending on what state you live in there are between 12 to 22 factors that come into play when it comes to the determination of alimony. The difference in your salaries is only one of them.

Depends on the situation. Talk to your lawyer. I think that alimony gets awarded for adultery, abandonment or to "keep the ex in a similar standard as to what they are accustomed". Learn from this though.....think hard about the wording of the alimony. Put a time frame on it. My bf has to pay his ex until she remarries or death....Can't imagine anyone marrying her so....And I have another friend whose ex had an affair. The judge awarded HER alimony for her standard of living to stay the same...can't imagine...
Anyway , unless you stipulate that the amount can be changed due to.....or after......or until  it will be forever...
