What do I do?

My husband and I haven't even celebrated our first anniversary but most of relationship has been plagued with turmoil and fighting.  He's treated me quite horribly, especially when I was pregnant with our son, but he's working on things and seeing a therapist every week.  I moved out 3 months ago but we have sort of maintained or relationship through emails, phone calls and the occasional visit.  There are children involved so that complicates things, add  to that the fact that not only do I live with my parents who I'm very close to, but they hate my husband with every fiber of their being.  When all is said and done I truly love my husband and part of me wants our life back, the other part can't get past the anger of how I've been treated over the past few years.  How do you get past the hurt or know that they've truly changed?

You're sure in a complicated situation.  Considering that you have children with this man and he is in therapy and hopefully trying to change, maybe it's worth it to try to work things out with him.   It's really going to be hard to get past the hurt and know that he's truly changed.  Why don't you go to marriage counseling together and work on your relationship.  Meanwhile don't talk to your parents about him and try to get your own place if you can afford it.  It will take time to trust him again.  Let him make the effort to convince you he's changed, don't pursue him.  If he was the one who hurt you, he has to sincerely make amends.
