soph - if you want to ensure that things go smoothly with the father of your child now and into the future custody, support and a parenting plan are essential.

your child has the right to be supported by both parents, and the court can ensure that - with a proper plan filed and in place.

If you mean how to raise your child, well first make sure child is fed, warm, love them, then make plans on how you want to live. Maybe if you have the money start a bank account for them, bonds, put money away for the future. You can make all the plans in the world and something might come up to change them if so can you live with that. Do what is in your heart and you will do what is right for you and your child. We all wish you luck.

do you mean a plan on how to raise a child?  or a legal plan about who would have custody if something happened to you?
