child custody/50/50 custody

My husband and his lawyer are demanding this.  I do not want it at all.  If I end up having to accept this, has anyone done it and how does it work?

Sadly, I see that divorce is a terrible thing for the kids.

The kids are 6 and 3.  They have been shuffled so the past 3 weeks because my husband insisted on every other night until court.  I was totally against this but was actually afraid to push it ..  a couple of times he was threatening to me and I just didn't want the children to see a scene.  He is volatile when I make him angry.

It works for some families and I believe is actually better for the kids depending on the circumstance. He can preach to the choir all he wants, the decision will be up to the judge and it will be made on what is best for th children. Divorce isnt pleasant, but the more open you are to change and acceptance, the easier it makes it for everyone involved. Dont give up without a fight for what you want. Its not a done deal yet but keep an open mind. What do the kids want?
