A Saudi man ended his relationship with his estranged wife. It only cost him the equivalent of $13,000. In return, she gave him sole custody of their infant son and agreed to never see the child again.
The battle started when the woman first gave birth. She told the husband that the baby belong to somebody else and moved out. The husband went to the courts, and they forced the woman to let him see the boy. She acquiesced, but when the husband showed up, there were two boys and she refused to tell him which one was his.
After threatened with a DNA test, the woman finally offered the divorce settlement. He'd get the boy, and she'd never see the boy again for SR50,000. The husband agreed, and she gave him the boy. There was never a DNA test, so the only assurance he has is the woman's word. In divorce, that isn't always the wisest maneuver.
