Greif is one of the experiences of life. A loved one dies, children grow up and leave home, and the loss of a job are all things we greave. Like these other things, it's important to allow yourself to greave your divorce.
You may not even recognize it as grief. Grief hits us all differently. Loss of sleep and appetite are common physical expressions of grief. If you bottle your grief up inside, it can lead to more severe dysfunctions, such as physical illness or suicidal depression.
When undergoing grief, it's important to accept it, and let it out. Talk with friends relatives, or even a support group. Many times, especially in divorce, our grief looks like other things such as anger and rage. Understanding and coping with the grief will help you move on to a healthier state.
