Are there Intermediate Alternatives Between Hiring Lawyers and Divorce Kits?

Some people can't afford divorce.  They can't pay for lawyers, and they can't afford the time required to properly fill out the appropriate paperwork in a divorce kit, let alone understand what is required. For those people there are divorce paperwork preparers.

Not all states have them, but in states like Arizona, they are cheaper than traditional lawyers, and governed by state regulation so that they handle clients paperwork properly.  They aren't a good fix for complex divorces where couples can't compromise on their own, but for those willing to compromise together, it's an inexpensive option.

Linda Pepping-Seger owns Divorce Packet Processing, she says "I think way too many people give up too easily." Listening to her clientele daily, she has a good understanding of marriages falling apart. She's also been through two divorces of her own.  How did she handle her own divorces? She let a lawyer take care of them.

We did the Internet version.  It worked for us.  It wasn't 100%, we still needed to manually fill some things in etc. but  For the most part, pretty easy.  Then again, we weren't fighting over a lot of the stuff.  I didn't really "want" anything except the things that had outstanding loans in my name.  I kept the house.  For us, we just did our best to get along.  If you can do that, it'll save you money no matter what route you take.

I would say get a lawyer , especially if their are assets and children involved. Yes , it is more expensive but in the long run it is not worth what you might lose.
If there are little or no assets or children involved then I might consider a kit.
