wrong or right??

I got married in July and then separated in Dec. My X is fightin over a bonus check I got from work from my profit sharing and says she is intitled to half of it. My question is ...Is she intitled to it even though we were only married for 6 months. If she is...is she intitled to half or how much. My other question is if she is intitled to half of my profit sharing shouldnt I be intitled to half of her 401k? Any advice would be greatly appreciated on this matter...I have given her what she has ask for except this because I dont feel she should get it.. We were only together for 6 months, I just dont understand..

um, no - she is nuts - the two of you are going to walk out of the marriage with what you walked in with.

get your butt to an attorney fast though and get your divorce going - you do not want it to go past the year mark before filing. Then you might have a problem.

The bonus check is considered income.  Total income is used to determine child support and/or alimony.  Given you were both only married for 6 months, I highly doubt alimony should be your concern.  I would not give her half of the bonus check.  Likewise, I'm sure because of the length of marriage, she would be able to protect her 401k.
