the home we have

I am the one who left our home. I have asked my husband to divorce me because I am not working and I have moved to a different sate. Should I ask for escrow in the house.

you mean equity?

it depends on several factors. was the home purchased while you were married? what state do you live in? How much of it you are entitled to depends on if you live(d) in a community property state or a fair & equitable state. It also matters if you live(d) in a state that only recognizes fault divorces - as you have abandoned the marriage, and that can reduce the amount you are entitled to.

You should get half. I would do it, you may need it later.

You are still entitled to half. Whether you left or not doesnt matter. Get what you deserve now. If you dont, you will be kicking yourself later.
