Lawyer Choices/seasoned lawyer vs. "bulldog"

My spouse has said he is going for the most expensive "bulldog" of a lawyer he can find...if he does get one, that is. My lawyer is a low profile, seasoned, no nonsense guy and he is affordable for me at this time.  If there are no adultery, drug, abuse issues, financial, etc., will I be ok?  My lawyer knows the judges and how they work.  The only issue we will have is children and custody.  Does big bucks always equal success in court?

no, what is important is that you have an attorney that you have a good rapport with and is on the same page as you as to what your goals are for your divorce.

what is the contention with your custody? Is he trying to get physical custody or are you having issues with visitation?

nope!!  make sure you get everything you want in a separation agreement (reasonable visitation for the kids, reasonable child support- go to www.findlaw.com  and look up the child support tab and find your state.. there is actually a calculator for determining how much child support each of you should be responsible for...make sure you get copies of all of the tax statements you guys have filed to cover the salary bases.. my mr wonderful tried to hide the $ he was making under the table but he didn't realize that i still had ways of finding out how much he was getting paid for the "side jobs"...if your mr wonderful carries on enough & makes a big enough fool of himself then he might even get lucky enough to pay your attorney fees!  good luck...
