How Did You Recognize Your Transition from Married to Single?

I like rituals. Anything that helps you celebrate transition, even when it's a difficult one, is a good thing in my book. When my divorce became final, I threw a party and we did some rituals with a candle to mark the line between married and single. Friends, family and neighbors came and we have a big picnic in my backyard. For another friend, we burned something of her ex's in the fireplace (a towel I think) and then wrote on a leaf what each of us wanted for our friend moving forward and offered those to the fire, too. Did you do anything special to mark the transition from married to single?

I didn't throw a party , it was a hard thing for me to do. I treated my boyfriend to dinner and drinks when his became final.
We are going to throw a big bash for him and his kids when all of his visitaion stuff is finalized and his kids are allowed to be around me this summer. Pig roast....I am already planning it!
