Bankruptcy

found out that he has a plan; to ask me not to take half of what the house is worth, or not ask to be bought out.  If I don't agree, he plans on filing bankruptcy..."taking me down with him."  what do I do?  Do I have any rights in this area?  How will this affect me?  Can i sue him?

I saw your other post, and you need to hire an attorney since he wants to try to play dirty. If he does file for bankruptcy, you can intervene and force the court to stay it until after the divorce proceeding is final - but you would need an attorney to handle it for you as it requires specific procedures.

I suggest you don't tell him that though.

I dont know much about bankruptcy, and Im not a lawyer, but I know the rules are arcane and it (bankruptcy) is much tougher than it was a few years ago, as the rules changed....
If I were you, I'd see a lawyer - even if you can only afford a few hours for a consult.  You cannot protect yourself here - better to go into a little debt than be bullied into something you will regret a potentially long time?
