What's the Thing that Pushed You Over The Edge?

Divorce is in the air. In Pakistan around 270 couples have divorced in the past 3 months. That's just the number of successful divorces. The number of cases filed was around 1,500.

Why do all these couples want divorced? 300 women filed for divorce because their husband wanted a second marriage. Around 100 listed economic reasons, and at least 150 blamed their mother in-laws for their divorce.

There were several other reasons listed, but these seemed to be the most popular, but the bottom line seems to be disillusionment. The marriage just didn't turn out the way they hoped wanted it.

I found my beloved husband of 34 years was a liar and married me never intending to be in a truly comitted relationship. He hid what he did well. He was working overseas telling me he was trying to get a job in the states. He married a Chinese girl 25 years younger than me in Feb. 2005. I also found he had fathered a son in the Philippines in 2000. He did not want to support his child. I found out about the other wife when he left a laptop at our home and said I could use it. It had their pictures on it. He wasn't man enough to say he wanted a divorce. I finally received my divorce in late 2007. The funny thing is he says he did not want a divorce. He expected me to stay and take care of the finances while he did whatever he wanted. His actions no longer fit his words. He is now in another state trying to immigrate the new "wife" into the U.S. He is truly unstable and I needed to get out while I could.

"I'm not in love with you anymore" and "I don't want to be married to you anymore" these were first , then I found out he was cheating as well.

Our marriage was rife with reasons to divorce but what pushed me over the edge was the subject of children. It became very clear that he would never be the type of father I wanted for my children. If anything, he'd be one more kid to raise -- except he'd never grow up and be self-sufficient. I just couldn't continue the marriage knowing that my choices were to either never have children or to raise them as if I were a single parent.

Cheating followed up with lies. I think dishonesty can kill just about anything. Not just marriages. Anything.
