Father seeing his son

Divorced since 2005. Have 5 year old. I have recently remarried, and moved about 3 1/2 hours away from father. He refuses to meet me halfway to see his son. I try to arrange visitation when I am near father, but never enough. He is putting the guilt trip about seeing him son on a weekly basis, but he won't drive. He needs to make an effort to see son too. I think he is still caught up with me leaving him 4 years ago. How far should I push him seeing his son? Should I get the courts involved? Or should I not press the issue until he ready?

Thank you for all the understanding.  I guess I need to stop begging and let him decide if his son is worth driving 2 hours to see.  He has wasted so much time.  It is unfortunate.

I f he wants to see his son he will. It's that simple. Just keep records of phone calls where you have tried to make arrangements with him.

Unfortunately you cannot make him see his son.  I am just recently separated and I already have this problem with the guilt trips. I even drove my girls 2 hrs to his house to spend the afternoon with him.  Sure he played with them a little bit, but for the most part he ignored them and I played with them.  I wish I could make him understand how important it is for the girls to spend time with him, but he won’t listen.  If your ex is anything like mine, he needs to do some growing up and maturing before he figures out what he has missed out on and what he needs to do to be a good father.

Goodness, seems like the both of you could work this out. However, if it's such an issue I would suggest seeking an attorney to help you.
