Got an attorney

So we got into a pretty big fight the other night. I said ya know what I can't do this anymore, I am just going to file. So the next day he calls a few attorney offices. He found one that I had spoken with. So the other one that I had spoke with that I really liked he called asking about retaining them and getting a divorce. He claims he just wanted some info. So I retained her after she called anout him calling twice. He wants me to get the retainer back and have us go to the courts ourself and file. So he can save some money. With kids, a house,  a time share, and this business 2500 isn't that bad. Plus it is just money. What if there is something that we forget, then we will have to go back to court.

So should I go get the retainer back, or should I keep my lawyer.

Cherri is 100% right... you cannot force him to have a lawyer but on the same principles he cannot force you not to.... so keep yours and work on a non-contested basis so you both will benefit from a less costly divorce. Good luck

I would keep your lawyer.  If you and your spouse can work together on a non-contested divorce, it will still save you a lot of money, but you will always have your attorney to fall back on if something were to go wrong.

I personally would not feel safe without a lawyer.
