friend getting a divorse...

One of my best friends is getting a divorce, and his wife wants to set all these rules on him that in everyones opinion is crazy. First of all it was her that cheated on him, more then once. Though it was him that left. He is now dating a woman who is really good to him. His wife won't let him see his boys (2), except if she gets something out of it, and he's only seen them for 3 hrs in the last month. She now wants to settle, but he has to agree to not let anyone see or meat his boys for a yr and a half after he starts seeing them, and from the divorce date, and she wants him to wait for 5 yrs before he can get married. She wants all this in the divorce. My question... do they put this stuff in divorse papers? He is willing to do anything at this point, but his girlfriend is questioning whether she will stay with him if she can only be part of his life 4 days a wk. and cannot live her life the way they want but the way his ex wants them to. I told her I would find out if possible, and I feel responsible because they met through me, though they weren't "fixed up". They are both questioning the legality of all this... Thanks

This is a legal question. But I don't know of any case where an ex can tell you how long you can wait to be married. You may lose spousal support if you do, but that's a different issue -- and doesn't apply to him. I would see an attorney, but I can't see how a judge would allow for that.
