Tax Time Questions

Ok, for 2007 we will be filing "married filing jointly" and he will be claiming both children as I was a SAHM for most of the year (we seperated in late Sept.). What I'm not sure about is how that will effect the "rebate" check that we are sure to get later in the year in response to this stimulus package. As it stands I am working and claim one of the children as of Jan. 1, 2008 and he claims the other. I did have some income in '07 and will be claiming it. Since we are filing jointly for '07 does that mean he'll get the entire rebate check sent solely to him in his name? Is there any way to guarantee the even division of that money? I'm not looking for the return on his '07 taxes mind you. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

It's for 2007 so you're entitled to half.

Duh@me. I had to look up SAHM. He will probably receive the rebate check BUT he should share it with you. So don't be shy about asking for it.
