Happy Anti-Valentines!

Yes, I said it, Anti-Valentines....

It never has been my favorite holiday.  Okay, when I was in elementary school, it was fun to have cookies and give everyone cards (even those you didn't like...).  But, as I got into high school and didn't date, I began to hate it.  many of my friends got balloons and cards and such.  I got nada.  Sucked big time.

And, then, I met my ex.  Now, he could be a really romantic guy.  of course, it was the same person who was TRYING to be all cute when, during a romantic moment looked into my eyes and said, "I'd say you have really pretty eyes if I didn't know you were so full..."  and, I stopped him right there.  It's okay to say silly things like that at others times.  But, come on.

Anyway, we never did go all out on that day, which was fine with me.  I looked at it more as another day.  Why should you go all out on just one day?  because everyone else is doing it?  Show me you care on some other random day- like July 12th.  It doesn't matter what the day is.  It's about being there for one another.

So, to all my friends- happy Anti-Valentines Day!

Well, y'all know my personal stance on this most hideous holiday, which I refer to as SINGLE'S AWARENESS DAY, OR SAD.

Nice to know someone gets flowers, Iam....no one I know besides you got them, so you may be onto something...although I have a man-friend, we just both get annoyed by the whole shebang, so we tend to denigrate it.

When I was married, my ex was good about Valentines.  I never got flowers (long story), but, he'd get me something.  We never went out- which was fine with me- because it was WAY too crowded.  I just think that we put too much emphasis on the ONE day instead of trying to make life about showing those you love just how much you do....

I think Iam's onto something there about marriage...

My stbx would also send a bunch of roses, then that night be calling me an f'n bitch and punching holes in the wall.  Every holiday had a negative attachment to it for me and my kids.  But, not anymore.  I made sure each of my kids got a yummy treat from their mom.  I really don't need the man thing right now.  Perhaps someday....

I had to be at me church yesterday. I sent off a valentines day card to me daughter and said happy valentine's to so many people it was unreal. It sucks that i don't have a woman I love to spend the day with or to say it to, but valentines is about love and I still have plenty of people I love that love me. I focused only on that and it was a great day regardless of this woman I no longer have. It's partly how we chose to respond to things that makes it all work the way it does. Love is great and I am gonna respond to it my own way to enjoy it, regardless....

My ex would have the most beautiful and expensive roses delivered to me...
then the lights would be shut off the next week for non payment....
good times, good times..
..just another reason I'm so damn happy!

I like Valentine's Day.  The IM sent me a dozen strawberries dipped in different chocolates.  YUMMMM.  My daughter gave me a card she made in Spanish class.  "Te Amo" (I Love You!).

This is why I will remain the trophy girlfriend forever.  In my experience, once you get married, it all comes to a screeching halt.
