Still feel married

My H and I have been separated for almost 8 months now, long story short, he had an affair, blindsided me with it, ended up leaving me and three daughters to live with his g/f, didn't work out, now she's gone. We do not fight or argue, just trying to get through this with as little pain as possible, kids still cry and miss daddy terribly and want him to come back home. I am beginning to wonder if 'getting along' is not confusing them even more? There hasn't seemed to be 'closure' to this, for myself as well, we see him too much and when we do it's just like 'normal'. How do we ever begin to feel like a "divorced" family.?

I agree with Vicki...

Having him around is great for the kids, but you need to move forward on the divorce process, but you did not make it clear that that is what you want, so until you figure that out you will be in a state of limbo

do you really want to feel like a divorced family?  it sounds like you have a good thing going with him being involved in your kids lives.  that's how it should be. you'd be amazed at how many people don't even have that.  but i do agree, you all need to understand the rules here and you need some closure to this relationship.  have you started counseling?  maybe that will help?  have you moved the furniture around in your home? made it yours?  maybe even consider moving?
