how old does a child have to be before they have a choice whether they see the noncustodial parent

I live in Arkansas. Last year my ex-wife told me she didn't want me seeing my kids anymore or having anything to do with them eventhough I keep my child support paid up. The youngest of them is now 14. Is this legal?? Can she do that?

i don't that is legal. usually child support and visitation are two very distinct issues....one has nothing to do with the other. meaning, if you don' tpay, she still has to allow you visitaiton.

It's always best to seek legal advise. From my limited reading of the FL statutes, she can be held in comtempt if she refuses you visitation. However, please do not stop paying child support because she will not allow you to see the children. If it's the children's choice to not want to see you, the judges begin to listen to the childrens' preferences at a 9-12 years old in FL. I recommend a lawyer to force her to comply with visitation order.
