Can an Ex spouse of 9+yrs get your inheritance if you die and are remarried?

I have been divorced and remarried for about 9 1/2 yrs but my ex just told me today that If I die he would inherite everything? IS this true? I thought my current spouse would? My Ex has Never remarried but been in about 12 different relationships and have made 9 babies since then. How could he inherit what My husband is working hard for? This was brought up because he saw something about Tina Turner Inheriting all of Ike Turners stuff once he died and his wife got nothing? Am I to be worried?Tammara

I agree with Robert-Boyd, if you have a will drawn up he is entitled only to what you leave him. If you have children together make specific guidelines in the will that the money be put in to a trust only the children can touch at a certain age. If you don't trust him, make one of your other family members in charge of your children's portion.

I would think your current spouse would be entitled to most everything, but I know that there are some cases where an ex can get at things like real estate. If you have a child , some states grant a share of your assets to the child. If it's the child of your ex, then if you ex gets custody of the child after your death, they can have access to the child's inheritance. The best way to protect yourself is to have a will drawn up. That way there are no questions as to who gets what, and you can eliminate worries of your ex completely.
