Does she have the right to ask for child support?

My wife left our marrital home with our four kids. I am saddled with the mortgage. Her boyfriend got her into a house, but she pays the rent. She is asking for child support. I have the kids every weekend (Friday - Sunday). Am I obligated to help her? Do I have any recourse for spousal support? Afterall, she left me, and screwing someone else while we are still married!!

C'mere....lean over....SMACK....there, a good whallop right on your head.... =)

You keep your children and your contempt for what your wife chose to do separate. YES she has the right to child support. You are OBLIGATED to your CHILDREN.

If you don't want to pay child support that work towards gaining 50/50 custody of the kids - but right now, she has the kids the bulk of the time and you have to help with their care.

If you work, you won't get spousal support - nor will she. MI is a no fault state so the fact she cheated doesn't come into play in your divorce.

What state are you living in?  Some states are "no fault" states when it comes to divorce.  My state is like that.  Also, each parent has to contribute to child support here.  It is based on both parents income and such things as custody issues, who pays health insurance, etc.  You can probably check with your state online to find more answers.  Good luck.
