what would you do..?!

My wife has abandoned me for the fourth time, stayin gone weeks at a time in my car registered only to me and refuses to bring it back, while I'm left to juggle the bills and responsibilties... She has no belongings remaining in my apartment but refuses to return my door key and threatens to have her 'buddies' help steal my belongings while I'm at work! What do you think I should/can do to protect myself from her childish spiteful actions?!

My husband left so many times that it made my head spin.  It was always volitile anger at usually someting stupid and called his buddie to pick him up.  I had finally had enough and realized how he was useing me for whatever reason. I provided a whipping post for all the things that he had done wrong in the past few years.  Loosing money and job status, not takeing care of business affairs in the proper  manner, owing the state taxes and federal tax sales tax unpaid bills and undeliverd product..among many other things.includindg an affair..At this point he has no drivers licence here in calif..a real no no.  had ceated so many banks that he can't get credit and has abandond his family. He asked to come back several times and promised that things would improve, 2 weeks later same ol thing..

I got sick of being on that merry go round and got physically ill from the stress of knowing how is actions were affectinig myself and my children.

So on that last blow up...I changed the locks myself that night. garbage bagged his clothes and told him that if he didn't get professional help as he had promised we had no future.  Nothing has changed 6 months later and we are now finally divorced.

I have had rehumatiod arhtitis for 20 years. I got it after the birth of my youngest daughter. My medical bills and pharmacy bills are scary and i am on sss. which pays next to nothing..After 30 years he pays me nothing. This is the most difficult thing I could ever do but I know I need to move on as he will not change..Just for the info'
I still really love him but i can't take his abuse anymore.   change locks, don't take calls, divorce her,  Unless she gets help she will never change.

If she abandoned the home can you change your locks?  Could you call your local police and ask what can be done if someone takes your car without your permission but this person is your wife?  I don't know if they'll consider it 'stolen' if you're married to her.

Are you filing for divorce?  If so, you should retain a lawyer and tell him as well.

Spaz is the attorney her so hopefully she'll chime in and give you legalities .
